07/05/2009 - Miami, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Ricky Nolasco was spectacular on the mound, tossing eight innings of three-hit ball to lead the Florida Marlins in a 5-0 shutout of the Pittsburgh Pirates in the rubber match of a three-game series at Land Shark Stadium.
Nolasco (6-6) fanned a season-high 12 batters and walked two to win his fourth consecutive start for the Marlins, who finished a six-game homestand with a 5-1 mark. In his six starts since a stint in Triple-A, the righty has allowed just seven runs over 41 frames.
Jeremy Hermida went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for Florida, which has won eight of its last 10 home series against Pittsburgh. John Baker went 2-for-4 with an RBI, double, and run scored. Dan Uggla and Chris Coghlan each drove in a run.
The Marlins were without shortstop Hanley Ramirez, who was scratched from Sunday's lineup due to a tight right hip flexor.
Ross Ohlendorf (7-7) lasted five frames, giving up five runs on nine hits with three strikeouts and one walk to take the loss for the Pirates, who have lost two in a row and four of their last five overall.
Andrew McCutchen, who had a pair of hits, and Garrett Jones accounted for the only three Pittsburgh hits in the tilt.
The Marlins drew first blood with a pair of runs in the second inning. Hermida tripled to center and Cody Ross was hit by a pitch to put men on the corners. Baker then reached on a fielder's choice, which knocked in Hermida. Wes Helms singled to load the bases with nobody out. Nolasco hit into a double play, but it drove in Ross.
Hermida's two-out, RBI single in the third extended Florida's margin to three. Jorge Cantu doubled to left and crossed the plate on Hermida's hit up the middle.
Florida continued to pile up the runs in the fourth, plating two more to make it a 5-0 game. Baker and Helms started the frame with back-to-back singles and Nolasco moved the runners up a base with a sacrifice bunt. Coghlan knocked in Baker with a single to center, and Uggla hit an RBI bloop single two batters later.
Pittsburgh put a man on second with two outs in the third and fourth, but failed to capitalize on both occasions.
Leo Nunez pitched a scoreless ninth for the Marlins to secure the victory.

Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament odds
As of February 9, MySportsbook.com has released its coveted 2007 Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament betting odds. “March Madness betting ” only a month away, the top ranked Florida Gators are favorite at 7-2 to win it all. The defending champs have not disappointed at all this season and currently have a 22-2 record and are undefeated (9-0) in SEC play. The Gators’ thrive off of their extremely balanced, experienced and versatile attack. All five starters started in last seasons National Championship game. What is most impressive with this group is their balance; the five starters all average between 10.7 and 13.6 PPG. The Gators have been on an absolute roll having won 15 straight by an average of 16.4 PPG.
Right behind the Gators are the 5th ranked UNC Tar Heels at 9-2. The Heels (21-3, 7-2) are absolutely loaded with top notch talent and are as deep as any team in the country. A concern for the Tar Heels might be inexperience. Of their top four scorers/ minute earners, three are freshmen and the other is a sophomore. The rest of the regular season, the Tar Heels play only one team that is currently ranked (Duke). Their remaining opponents do combine for an impressive 107-58 record though.
Other teams that the MySportsbook.com members seem to believe will win it all include the west coasts’ top team #2 UCLA (6-1), #3 OSU behind man-child Greg Oden (8-1), and #4 Wisconsin (10-1) behind their defense which has given up 70+ points only three times all season.
Below is a list of some of the favorites to win the 2007 Men’s NCAA Basketball Championship lines. For the full list of teams and March Madness odds be sure to log onto MySportsbook.com.
